The 7 Most Beautiful Beaches in the Bahamas

The Bahamas have long been a popular destination for vacations, conventions, weddings and honeymoons. Although there are many beautiful beaches scattered throughout these islands, there are a few that stand out above the rest. With picturesque sands, calm waters and wonderful vistas, these are the seven most beautiful beaches in the Bahamas.  You can find more information about the Bahamas at

On the island of New Providence, near the city of Nassau, lies the wonderful Cable Beach. Stretching along the shore for four miles, it is the longest beach on the island. This beach is best for vacationers who come not only for the beach, but for the city as well. With plenty of hotels, restaurants, bars and casinos nearby, it is no wonder that this is such a popular beach. This also gives travelers ample access to restrooms, which makes it perfect for families with children.

A bit farther out from Nassau there is a second great beach, Caves Beach. For vacationers who want a quiet, peaceful escape this beach is ideal. At about seven miles from the city few tourist venture this far, making it one the more secluded Bahamas beaches. Travelers should come prepared though, as there are no public facilities nearby.

Another incredible beach in this region is located just south of the Governor’s Harbour Airport, on Eluthera Island. The beach is called Alabaster Beach or Receiver’s Beach. It sports a laid back atmosphere, plenty of shade and clean clear waters. The water depth remains shallow for a fair distance out, so it is perfect for small children.

For a rare and beautiful site, the fine pink sands of Old Bight Beach are hard to beat. This gorgeous beach on the coast of Cat Island offers unique seashells, a quiet atmosphere and the perfect spot for a family picnic. At five miles long, it is also one of the larger beaches in the area.

Paradise Beach, located on Paradise Island, truly lives up to its name. Although smaller than many of the other beaches on this list, it makes up for its size by providing perfectly clear water and pure white sands. In addition, there are opportunities here to dive into the deep water and explore sea gardens, caves and even shipwrecks.

Another popular spot for divers and snorkelers is the beach at Stocking Island. This small island can be reached only by boat, but is well worth the easy ride over. With powder-white sands, as well as blue-holes and coral gardens, this island offers visitors a secluded slice of heaven.

Tahiti Beach is the last, but certainly not least, of the beautiful beaches to make this list. On the small island of Elbow Cay, one of the Abaco Islands, lies this pristine shoreline. Only accessible by walking or biking down a gravel road from Hope Town or by chartering a boat, this beach is never too crowded to enjoy the amazing scenery. The Abaco Islands are known as the sailing capital of the Bahamas, and boats of all kinds can be seen drifting along the calm waters.

The islands of the Bahamas are home to many wonderful and exciting destinations. There are certainly many other beautiful beaches besides these located in the Bahamas. This is not meant to be a comprehensive list, but only to be a guide to the most pristine and picturesque locations throughout the islands.
