6 Things Every Homeowner Must Own

Every homeowner needs a few things to make their home, well, a home. You don’t need a ton of money for these, but they come in handy when things ago wrong. And it’s true that in most houses, things go wrong with quite some regularity.

So, here are the essential tools for every homeowner. As long as you have them, you’ll be fine.

1. A Ladder

A ladder is a basic piece of equipment. So basic that most homeowners shouldn’t even need to be told to get one.

However, there are some people out there who just refuse to get one. Which works out fine until a high light burns out, or a crawl space needs to be reached, or a roof needs to be accessed.

2. A Philips and Flat-Head Screwdriver

These two screwdrivers are a must for any real homeowner. Homeowners never know when you’ll need to tighten a screw or put together a piece of IKEA furniture.

Homeowners need to get both as well. Aside from being embarrassing if you only have one, it’s not functional to just have one screwdriver.

3. Plunger

The plunger is a basic piece of home equipment. It’s dead useful, both for zombie invasion and unplugging a toilet that’s been blocked.

Additionally, this isn’t something a homeowner wants to be searching for frantically. If it’s not on hand, it’s not serving its use.

4. Pry Bar

A pry bar is another piece of equipment that’s useful both in daily life and during a zombie invasion. You’ll need to get into locked boxes, cars, or lever up something heavy at some point, and a pry bar is just the tool for that.

Further, pry bars are also useful for stripping wires, wedging doors open, and any manner of things. And most are less than $20, so it’s simple to add one to any homeowner’s arsenal.

5. Utility Knife

Knives of some sort are always useful. Homeowners never know hen you’ll need to get into boxes, or cut things. Knives are just, generally, extremely useful.

A knife doesn’t have to be anything special. In fact, if it’s nice homeowners might not use it when they really need to. Don’t overly worry about damaging the blade or getting a nice one – virtually any blade will do.

6. A Home Warranty

Home warranties are vital, in case your handy repairs aren’t so handy. Or in case something just goes wrong. A home warranty in Arizona is pretty cheap, but you can get one in any state a homeowner might live in relatively easily.

A homeowner should really think of getting a home warranty when they first buy a home. Since when a home is flooding, and the sink has broken, it’s a little too late; and the homeowner will want that warranty to fall back on.
